do you ever wonder how we come up with the names for our sandwich specials?
often, they are homages to our friends back east.
for instance, "the bob carlton" (black forest ham, juicy pineapple, muenster and honey mustard grilled, in case you've forgotten), is named after our dear friend.

bob's a good man with a big heart and a Star Wars tattoo. he's in a recently reunited band, Dryer, who has been on heavy rotation here at kitchen sink.
this week's special, "the matthew carefully" (mortadella, marinated mozzarella, tomato and balsamic vinaigrette) is named after fellow barista matthew "carefully" loiacono. matthew is also an incredibly talented musician (formerly of the kamikaze hearts and currently churning out beautiful tunes on his own) and one heck of a scrabble player.
last week's special, "the rachael ray" (homemade mozzarella, roasted red peppers, pesto and balsamic vinaigrette) wasn't named after a friend, but the delish(!!) sandwich's namesake is from our neck of the woods!
there. don't you feel more in-the-loop now?
